IFFOR is now accepting nominations, for positions, in an individual capacity, within the non-profit organizations responsible for developing the policies applicable to all .XXX registrants. More specifically, in light of the 25 June 2010 Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Board meeting in Brussels, Belgium, and the Board’s vote to move forward with the approval of ICM’s application for the .XXX top level domain (TLD), IFFOR is now seeking qualified candidates for nomination to the Policy Council of the International Foundation for Online Responsibility (IFFOR), a not for profit organization, based in Washington, DC, that will serve as the policy setting body for ICM Registry and the .XXX domain. See our Organization Chart
The IFFOR PC Nominating Committee has given careful consideration to the truly international scope of IFFOR’s charter and the business of ICM Registry. As a result, it is essential that the composition of the PC reflects the same international nature in its membership. In order to make an informed decision regarding this unique opportunity, and in addition to a review of IFFOR’s materials, we would like to take this opportunity to provide you with some brief background information regarding the organization and its Policy Council
1) How will IFFOR be funded?
IFFOR will be directly funded by ICM Registry through the revenue generated from the individual registrations in the .XXX domain. More specifically, ICM Registry will donate USD 10.00 per domain registration per year. Based on our market intelligence at this time, ICM estimates an annual operating budget for IFFOR of between USD 3-5 million.
2) What would be my role as a member of IFFOR’s P C?
As a member of IFFOR’s P C, you would have two roles. First and foremost, you would be afforded the opportunity to develop and direct the policies for registrants within the .XXX domain. Next, you would also have the opportunity to allocate a portion of IFFOR’s revenues to worthy public interest organizations that are addressing many of the important issues facing the global online adult entertainment industry today, including, but not limited to, the health and longevity of its participants, the protection of children, and the defense of the right to freedom of speech.
3) How would my participation as a member of the P C affect me personally?
Important to consideration of this position is the fact that, given the P C’s legal and organizational status, this is not a proposed corporate directorship, and indeed you would assume no rights or obligations that come along with a board director position. As part of your own due diligence as you consider this policy formulating opportunity, IFFOR will furnish you or your representatives with any documentation you seek to confirm your limited advisory role within the IFFOR organization.
Additionally, whilst the goal of IFFOR is to maintain prudent annual operating expenses and many particpants will be volunteers, we appreciate that your time is valuable and, as such,on request, will recognize your service through an annual stipend of USD 15,000.00, in addition to a per diem for attendance at PC meetings and full reimbursement of any previously agreed upon travel expenses. After the PC ’s initial work is completed, it is expected that the PC will meet telephonically once a quarter, with a general, in person meeting once a year.
Make no mistake, serving on the Policy Council for IFFOR provides a truly unique opportunity. You will be part of a well funded organization; part of a team of prominent and insightful leaders who will be singularly devoted to the fulfillment of the organization’s charter; and part of a global effort that seeks to shape the future of online adult entertainment in a responsible manner.
